"...No match for a good blaster at your side"
This blaster is used by a Jedi Padawan (lightsaber build TDB) who was abandoned after the rise of the Empire.
It has weld marks and is quite weathered to show how poor this Jedi is.
The blaster is just kind of thrown together with whatever they could find because of this.
The main inspirations for this blaster pistol are the DL-44 (Han Solo's blaster) and the RSKF-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol.
The main body of the blaster is made from an off-brand NES zapper. Inside the blaster is a Pi Pico to control the sound and
lights using CircuitPython. Additionally, there is an Adafruit I2S MAX98357A AMP to make the sound crisper and much louder than the Pi Pico could produce by itself. Originally,
I was going to use an Adafruit Mono PAM8302 AMP, but the sound that it produced either had an awful high-pitched whine that I could not get rid of or lower sound quality that I was not happy with.
Most of the blaster is made of the off-brand NES zapper, as stated above. The other parts of the blaster are made of 3D-printed parts or gutted flashlights.
The midsection of the barrel and scope are both flashlights, while the front and back of the barrel, the scope connector, and most of the greeblies are all 3D-printed. Speaking of the greeblies,
I applied them to the build to hide screw holes so the blaster appears less toy-like.
There were some areas on the blaster that had large gaps, so I filled them with hot glue and painted them to look like welding marks. Also, the leather braid on the right of the blaster
represents the Padawan braid. Overall, I'm very pleased with this build.
The stand for the blaster is 3D-printed as well. However, I did not design it. Here is a
link to the original model.
